Professor Stuart Burgess has taught engineering design at Cambridge University and Bristol University in the UK. He has won many national awards for engineering design, and has published over 130 scientific articles on design in engineering and design in nature. He has seven patents and carried out design projects for industry including designing parts of rockets and spacecraft for the European Space Agency. He is author of the books Hallmarks of Design, He Made the Stars Also, and The Origin of Man.
James Gardner accepted Christ as a young child in Thailand where his parents were missionaries. He and his wife have spent over 15 years studying the scientific evidence supporting creation. He founded Canopy Ministries as a means to share what he learned through the years. A Pilot, Jim flies a small aircraft and lectures across the country and around the world, both for his own ministry and for AiG and ICR. Extensive world travels to foreign mission fields include Europe, Asia, Australia, the Pacific, the Caribbean, and Central and South America. Trips to the Grand Circle, Yellowstone, Yosemite and Glacier National Parks, Chichen-Itza, Machu Picchu, Cuzco, and Angkor Wat have provided firsthand experience in geology and archaeology.
Ken Ham Since moving to America in 1987, Australian Ken Ham—president and founder of Answers in Genesis-U.S., the highly acclaimed Creation Museum, and visionary behind the construction of a full-size Noah’s Ark—has become one of the most in-demand Christian conference speakers and talk show guests. A biblical apologist, Ken co-founded AiG in 1994 with the purpose of upholding the authority of the Bible from the very first verse. His Australian accent, keen sense of humor, captivating stories, and exceptional PowerPoint/Keynote illustrations have made him one of North America’s most effective Christian communicators.
Bodie Hodge attended Southern Illinois University at Carbondale (SIUC) and received a BS and MS in mechanical engineering. After earning his master’s degree, Bodie worked as a test engineer through Aerotek Engineering for Caterpillar, Inc., in Peoria, Illinois at the Peoria Proving Ground. While working at Caterpillar, Bodie continued to teach apologetics to junior high and high school students. He did this until accepting a position with Answers in Genesis in 2003. Currently, Bodie is a speaker, writer, and researcher in AiG’s Outreach Department, oversees AiG’s Correspondence Department, and is a regular speaker in the Creation Museum Speaker Series.
Professor Andy C. McIntosh (Leeds) holds an emeritus chair in Thermodynamics and Combustion Theory, and has lectured and researched in these fields for over 20 years. He has a PhD in combustion theory from the aerodynamics department of what was then Cranfield Institute of Technology (now Cranfield University), a DSc in Applied Mathematics from the University of Wales and worked for a number of years at the Royal Aircraft Establishment. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Mathematics and its Applications, the Institute of Energy, the Institute of Physics and the Royal Aeronautical Society. As an associate speaker for AiG for many years, he speaks both in the UK and many countries abroad. He delights to present the scientific evidence for Creation.
Dr. David Menton A lifelong interest in science led to his study of biology and chemistry at Minnesota State University in Mankato, where he graduated with a BS degree in 1959. After a six month tour of active duty in the Army Reserves, Dr. Menton worked two years as a research laboratory technician at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester Minnesota. He left Mayo to do graduate work at Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island, where he received a PhD in biology in 1966. Shortly after retirement, Dr. Menton joined Answers in Genesis as a speaker and researcher. He now travels and speaks for AiG throughout much of the U.S. as well as overseas, including recent events in Canada, the United Kingdom, Australia, Trinidad, Peru, and Turkey.
Michael J. Oard Recently retired from the National Weather Service, meteorologist Mike Oard gives fascinating illustrated talks on the compelling evidence for Noah’s Flood and the Ice Age that resulted, and how the incredible wooly mammoth connects to biblical history. In addition to his technical writings, Michael is the author of a children’s book, Life in the Great Ice Age, and a book for teens and adults, The Weather Book.
Christopher C. Witt is Curator of Birds at the Museum of Southwestern Biology. He is originally from Philadelphia where he got started in Ornithology at the Academy of Natural Sciences. He got his Ph.D at Louisiana State University in 2004, after which he was a postdoctoral fellow at UC-Berkeley. He joined the faculty at University of New Mexico in 2007. Dr. Witt uses specimen-based approaches to study biogeography and evolution of hummingbirds and other New World birds.

Revealing the power and love of God through one of nature’s most awe-inspiring creatures, Refracted Glory takes an up-close look at hummingbirds. This documentary digs deep into the scientific perspectives behind these amazing little birds.
“I can remember watching hummingbirds through the kitchen window years ago and hearing my granddad talk about how they fascinated him,” says producer, Benjamin Owen. “ And they still fascinate us today.”
“I am very excited to be working with Border Watch Films on this new project,” says David Rives, who is hosting the documentary; “My passion is in presenting the message of Creation through awe-inspiring and oftentimes overlooked examples of our Creator’s power. The hummingbird, I believe, is one of the best examples.”
Refracted Glory features some of the world's foremost authorities on science, history, and the Bible who inform with years of study, observation and hard data to reveal the divine inspiration at work in this marvel of design we call hummingbirds.
'Hummingbirds are a testament to God's grand design,' Owen says. 'Refracted Glory helps shine a light on the truth seen in creation by examining their intricacies.' The glory of God is evident, not only in the macro-scale of the universe, but also in the nano-scale of living creatures.
